Elaborate antique circa 1877 Christian religious shadow box assemblage with a detailed diorama of the crucifixion including a gilded Jesus form on a wood cross, mourners on either side (antique lithograph), a multitude of gilded iconology/symbolic forms, silk flowers and leaves, and a rushed fabric surround. Plate lower center reads “Thy Kingdom Come; 100 Days’ Indulgence Each Time Pius IX 14th June 1877.” Ornate gilded frame. All of the elements including the diorama, frame, and rushed fabric are in amazingly good condition considering its age. Sight 13 5/8” x 9 ½.” Frame 21” x 17.” See photos and condition.

Item Condition
As mentioned in the description, all of the elements including the diorama, frame, and rushed fabric are in amazingly good condition considering its age. There is some separation to the lower left frame corner as seen, and some lighter frame wear. Appears to be some light particle debris on the inside, esp. the lower section. The back, including the raised back, shows antique surface wear consistent with age. See photos.
