Mario Prassinos (Greek/French,1946-1985). Large dramatic, luminescent, Mid-Century colored etching on paper in black, white and bright yellow tones. The piece is signed lower right and signed artist’s proof (EA) lower left. Unframed. Image 17" x 24.25", Paper 22.5" x 30." Note that piece will be rolled for shipping.

Mario Prassinos was a French modernist painter, printmaker, illustrator, stage designer, and writer of Greek-Italian descent. The publisher of the piece is L’Oeuvre Gravee, with blindstamp as seen lower left. L’Oeuvre Gravee were publishers who printed mostly color lithographs in Paris in the 1950s and 1960s.

Item Condition
The image itself is in very good condition, no defects noted. There is a thin line of slight darkening approx. 1/2" thick where original matting had been. There are some small tears around the edges, and tape residue/marking along the back edges as seen. There is a 1" thinning of the paper on the top edge where tape had been removed. See photos.
