Colored etching by 20th Century Austrian artist Luigi Kasimir featuring the Austrian town Bad Gaston with a walking path in the foreground and the town, including a church spire, in the distance. Estate signed in pencil lower center. Dated June 27, 1943 in the plate lower left. Image 18 1/4" x 13 1/8"; Paper 25 5/8" x 20." Note that etching will be rolled for shipping.
Well known early 20th Century Austrian artist Luigi Kasimir was a pioneer in the technique of colored etching. His original designs were transferred to four to six colored plates which in turn were printed one over the other to create his unique effects. His subject matter depicts both urban and rural areas throughout Europe, as well as a series depicting famous sights in the USA
